Where did you come from? Are your roots in Maryland, the Carolinas, the West Indies, the Caribbean, Africa, Europe, South America, or elsewhere? Were your ancestors part of a great migration northward or westward within the United States or were they immigrants from another country?
If you know, share your research strategies. If you don't know, learn how to find your ancestors at the annual "Footprints and Roots" Juneteenth Celebration Seminar. You can attend one or all three genealogy sessions. There will be a mid-day break in the workshops so that participants can enjoy some of the musical entertainment.
Since you're never too young to begin this journey, special workshop sessions are planned for children ages 7-12.
These workshops are free to the public.
Shuttle bus service to and from Walker Mill Regional Park is provided.
These lectures and workshops are sponsored by the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc. and their partners.
