COACHING EDUCATION - American Sport Education Program (ASEP)

ASEP Coaches' Clinics are information-packed, practical and inspiring! You will revitalize your coaching by learning new techniques and gaining fresh perspectives on established principles. You will share in this experience with other coaches-young and old, new and veteran. The class covers coaching techniques for all sports. This is a hands-on clinic, which will help your athletes reach their greatest potential in all related sports. (NO CHILDREN PERMITTED). Coaching Young Athletes is a 3 hour course designed for parents and volunteer coaches who have limited or no specific training to be a coach, minimum requirement for PGCBGC. The program is offered regularly from August-June. Graduation from the ASEP training and the completion of a background check is mandatory to coach for the Prince George's County Boys & Girls Club. Registration forms can be found at http://pgparks.com/things/sports.html under 'Coaching Education' or contact the Commissioners of each sport.

    Highlights of the class include:

    • Coach's Role: What are the responsibilities?
