Francisco Loza is a Mexican artist based in Baltimore, MD. He creates complex estambre (yarn) and chaquira (beads) on wood surfaces that he covers with two types of wax and onto which he presses, cuts, and shapes brightly colored threads or beads, one by one, into intricate and complex designs. His works reflect many themes, including nature, climate, Mexican traditions, immigration, and the abstract.
