All Outdoor Programs Cancelled by M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George's County

Riverdale, MD – M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County announces the cancellation of all outdoor programming for July 9 -including Shakespeare in the Parks, Come Out & Play, and Baseball Skills Clinic- due to extreme heat in the Washington Metropolitan area. Athletic fields are now closed. Indoor facilities remain open, and indoor programs will continue as scheduled. Patrons are encouraged to postpone visits to: 

  • Parks 
  • Trails 
  • Outdoor tennis, pickleball, basketball courts 
  • Playgrounds 
  • Golf courses 
  • Picnic pavilions 
  • Campgrounds 
  • Playgrounds 
  • Trap & skeet 
  • Old Maryland farm 
  • Any other outdoor Parks and Rec facility
