Created within a single day, each work in The Virtual Flesh is an exercise in immediacy, memory, and transformation. Each piece begins as a carefully arranged composition of personal ephemera—cyanotypes, feathers, and misprints from earlier work—which Allen photographs and then digitally manipulates. Through this layering of physical and virtual materials, his work reflects on the passage of time, using fragments of personal history to summon memories, moments, and the quiet accumulation of lived experience.
