The Department of Parks and Recreation offers many opportunities to learn and play the game of basketball. Introduce your child to the game, play the game in one of our recreational leagues or attend a fun-filled Summer Day Camp.

Basketball Skills Challange
The court is in session! Hit the court to dribble through cones, make free throws, and jump shots, and score as many points as you can within 60-seconds. Revive your love for the sport in a safe and exciting environment. Join the action and sign up now! For Boys and girls ages 6-14. Participants should bring bottled water and tennis shoes.

Washington Mystics Basketball Clinic Series
Come out and elevate your game! The Washington Mystics in partnership with the Department of Parks and Recreation are hosting a series of FREE skills clinic for girls ages 6-14. Participants will learn basketball fundamentals, build confidence, and make new friends on the court. Sign up today!

Leagues
Fall Girls' 3x3 Basketball League
The Department of Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Prince George’s County Boys and Girls Club (PGCBGC) is excited to deliver its first Girls 3x3 Basketball League! Girls ages 9-14 can register individually or as part of a team (non-PGCBGC teams are encouraged as well and learn and improve the fundamentals of basketball while gaining hands-on experience through competitive league play! Each session will start with an age-wide (10u, 12u, 14u), 60 minutes skills clinic, followed by organized game action.
This six-game season (plus playoffs) kicks off on Saturday, October 8th Locations and times vary throughout the County.

The Prince George’s County Boys & Girls Club Basketball League
This program is facilitated by Prince George’s County Boys & Girls Club with the support of the Department of Parks & Recreation. Basketball games are played in the winter from January through March. Youth sports clubs are located all throughout the county. Leagues are set-up for the following age groups (i.e. 8u, 9u, 10u, 11u, 12u, 13u, 14u, 15/16u & 17/18u). League age is based on your child’s age as of January 1 of the current year. Prices vary from team to team. To get league details or find a team near you, go to www.pgcbgc.com.
