About SRLS Summer Concerts at Cosca

The Southern Recreation and Leisure Services Division of the Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County, is proud to announce the return of the Summer Concerts at Cosca series! This beloved summer tradition has become a favorite among the county’s annual performing arts events.

This year’s performances – featuring R&B, soul, funk, Gogo, and more – highlighting local talent and bringing the community together for an evening of great music, fun, and relaxation. Concerts are FREE, and all ages are welcome!

Concert location may be subject to change in the event of inclement weather, with the new location being the Southern Area Aquatics and Recreation Complex, 13601 BG Memorial Dr, Brandywine, MD 20613.

Wednesday June 18, 2025. 6-8pm Celebrating Caribbean American Heritage Month

Ras Lidj Regg’Go Band

Ras Lidj is a musician, songwriter, and performer from DC, known for creating his own genre, “Regg’Go” – a fusion of Roots dancehall Reggae and DC’s signature Go-Go beat. A seasoned music veteran, Ras Lidj blends the vibes of reggae, dancehall, and Go-Go into a unique sound. Since receiving his name in 1992, his socially conscious songs and live performances have established Regg’Go as a distinctive genre of its own.

Red Carpet Affair Band

The Red-Carpet Affair Band DC is a live music group based in the Washington, DC region. They perform energetic sets, bringing a mix of hip hop, funk, R&B, and go-go music to their audiences. In 2023, RCA Band DC was honored to win DC Public Library’s “Making of the Go-Go Band” summer event series competition judged by local music legends. RCA Band DC has performed at various events and venues in the DC region, including MLK Library Art All Night, Restaurant 55, Fast Eddies, Club Vibe, Shark Bar, Martini’s, 5 Sisters, Kaldis Rooftop, Fire Station 1 and more. They have a growing presence on Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. RCA Band DC’s most recent release, “Scared Money Don’t Make No Money” is available for streaming or download wherever music is found.

Walker’s Redd Project

The Walker Redds Project (WRP) is a versatile R&B/Go-Go band blending old and new school R&B, funk, jazz, gospel, Afro Beats, and neo soul. With a diverse music range, WRP adapts to any event, from jazz and dinner sets to high-energy dance performances. Covering R&B hits from the 70s to today, they captivate audiences throughout the DMV. The band’s instrumentation includes vocals, percussion, bass, keys, horns, and drums, with a lineup ranging from four to eight members.

X-FACTOR Band

X-FACTOR is a dynamic music group that blends R&B, funk, and rock with a fresh, original sound. Led by Anthony B. Rucker of the Soul Formula Band, X-FACTOR brings a unique spin to classic genres. The band features two powerful vocalists, Natalie Redd and Duane “DRob” Robinson, supported by a solid rhythm section: Rucker on bass, David “Eckie” Mullins on drums, Charnetta Dobbins on keys, and David Roy on guitar. With their infectious grooves, X-FACTOR captivates audiences, drawing them to their feet with every performance.

Blacc Print Experience Band

Blacc Print Experience Band is a talented group of musicians specializing in R&B, Jazz, and Washington DC culture. Since 2019, they’ve been performing together, blending technical skill and musical versatility to create an exclusive sound that sets them apart. The band takes pride in breaking musical boundaries and invites you to explore their site to learn more about the inspiration behind their music.

Is there a parking fee?

No, parking is FREE!

Is there seating?

Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, a blanket or something to sit on, along with something to create shade such as a covered chair. We recommend wearing hats, cool clothing, and bringing fans to beat the heat. Don’t forget sunscreen!

Is smoking permitted since the event is outdoors?

No, smoking is not permitted. All outdoor parks in Prince George’s County with the Department of Parks and Recreation are smoke-free to promote a healthy environment for everyone. You can read more about it here.

Can I bring a pet?

Pets are not allowed at the concerts. Registered service animals, however, are permitted.

Are these concerts accessible?

All events will have accessibly parking (with proper state-issued vehicle credentials). If you’re planning to attend one of these events and you need specific accommodation, please reach out to our access team at Program.Access@pgparks.com or call the Program Access Office at 301-249-7200; Maryland Relay 7-1-1.

Can I bring my own food?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own cooler with drinks and food. You will also be able to purchase food from a food truck vendor. Guests are encouraged to bring water, especially on hot days!

Will ATMs be available for cash withdrawal?

No, ATMs are not available on-site.

Is this event suitable for children?

The music selection primarily appeals to the 50+ community, but all are welcome to attend.

Where is the Lost & Found?

The Lost & Found will be located at the Info Tent near the restrooms.
