Montpelier Arts Center honors Aretha Franklin, a singer, songwriter, and pianist whose career spanned an incredible six decades. The reigning “Queen of Soul,” Franklin’s music has touched countless hearts and souls. This afternoon concert features one of the DMV’s most talented songbirds, R&B recording artist Ameya Taylor, who honors Franklin’s legacy by performing some of her greatest hits, including “Chain of Fools,” “Freeway of Love,” “Ain’t No Way,” and more.

Please join us in celebrating Women’s History Month and the 250th birthday of Jane Austen with historian Tracy Gillespie. The talk for the afternoon tea will be an enjoyable look at Jane Austen’s life through Austen’s famous literature. Brush up on your favorite JA books and movies, as there will be trivia and prizes. This program is in partnership with the Prince George’s County Historical Society. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
