Event Information
Kristina Penhoet is a fiber artist using handwork methods to create sculptural objects and installations to encourage reflection on the human experience. For the body of work in Contextual Remnants, she installs crocheted work that addresses some pressing issues within our current cultural context such as bodily autonomy, an overabundance of information, and societal paralysis. Penhoet is based in Washington, DC and has held artistic residencies and/or fellowships in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Japan. Her work has been shown at the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. as well as other galleries and art centers throughout the United States and in Brazil.
