March 7, 2025

RIVERDALE, Md. – M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County is pleased to announce the reopening of the Southern Regional Aquatic Wellness Center following the completion of repairs. The newly restored Southern Regional Aquatic Wellness Center will reopen to the public on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at noon.
The completed repairs addressed cracks that developed in the pools, ensuring a safer and more durable environment for swimmers of all ages. The delayed reopening was necessary to ensure that the facility meets the highest standards of safety and enjoyment for all visitors.
“We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we worked to complete these necessary repairs,” said Adrienne Harris-Moore, Division Chief of the Aquatics and Athletic Facilities Division. “The improvements will enhance both the safety and overall experience of our visitors, and we are excited to welcome everyone back.”
To celebrate the reopening, Prince George’s County residents will enjoy free general admission and classes until Friday, May 2, 2025. Regular operating hours will resume on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Patrons are encouraged to make pool reservations and to register for classes in advance to secure their spot, as availability is based on capacity.
