Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County Announces Return of
Dallas Black Dance Theatre to Publick Playhouse
Riverdale, MD – The Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County, part of the M-NCPPC, is proud to announce the return of the Dallas Black Dance Theatre to Publick Playhouse in Hyattsville. For over 40 years, the Company has mesmerized audiences with spell-bounding performances that keep audiences coming back for more. Their repertory combines classical and contemporary modern works by Alvin Ailey, Elisa Monte, Milton Myers, Asadata Dafora, Dianne McIntyre, Matthew Rushing, Christopher L. Huggins, Ben Stephenson, Twyla Tharp, and others. The touring artists are a diverse multiethnic troupe of well-trained, exciting, and skillful dancers.

April 27, 7-8 pm: African Dance for Youth Ages 8-14
April 27, 8:15-9:15 pm: African Dance for Teens and Adults; Ages 15 and up
April 28, 6-7:30 pm: Liturgical Dance for Youth Ages 8 -14
April 28, 7:45-9:15 pm: Liturgical Dance for Teens and Adults; Ages 15 and up

About Dallas Black Dance Theatre
Founded in 1976 by Ann Williams, Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s mission is to create and produce contemporary modern dance at its highest level of artistic excellence through performances and educational programs that bridge cultures and reach diverse communities. Since 1947, the historic Playhouse continues to serve as a popular venue for music and modern dance, musical theater, historical drama, educational programs and monthly events for seniors.
